We're ready to go! Just waiting to be picked up.... Some more photos here. As you can see, we've been crated up but we rather like it in here. The door is always open so we can run in and out as we like. We can't wait for our new owners to arrive now and take us to our new homes.
This week is one of my favourites. Tuesday morning was the morning mum (Lily) entered the throng as usual, but instead of allowing feeding she looked round at them all and spoke in a low voice (a gentle grrr) until they were all sitting to attention. As they looked at her wondering what was going on, she strolled over to the raised bed and then enticingly beckoned them over for play. Mum's not just a feeding machine, she is also fun!!! More photos at play with mum and with bubbles here. Tuesday was also the day they all went on an exciting journey in the car - to the vets! where they were checked over by Ann-Marie and had their microchipping done. Now they will all give a little beep whenever they are wanded. They all had a good sleep after all the excitement when they were back home. With the recent sunny weather they are all keen to be outside, playing, eating and sleeping of course - what life is all about. Next week will be very exciting too!!
Play time! Week 6 and the puppies are spending a lot of time outdoors playing. The past couple of days have been relatively dry so they have been able to have a good romp. They are exploring different toys, some hard for chewing, tug toys and balls. They have reduced to four main meals a day, with ad-hoc top ups from Lily - but she doesn't hang around long now as their teeth are sharp. They are sleeping well through the night, from 10.30pm through to about 6am typically. Meals at 6am, 12 noon, 5pm and 10pm. Today the whelping box was dismantled and placed back into storage for another time. The pups are sleeping in a proper bed now with a larger area to roam. They are all very good at going outside to do their business, and it is great coming down in the mornings to no mess. They go straight outside when they wake, perform and then have their breakfast. Mrs B. has been keeping a keen eye on their no. 2s and checking for the right consistency. A delivery arrived from Skinners today - wonder what's in the box. Only a couple of weeks now before Arthur, Bailey and Jeffrey leave us to go with their new owners. More photos
Week 5 and the puppies are spending more time outside. They have had visits from all their respective new owners and we now know all their names - so we have Arthur, Bailey, Ben and Jeffrey! Collection dates are organised. They have had their second worming and are eating more solid food as they are weaned off Mum. They have enjoyed having Boris to play with for the past week (he has returned to Suffolk this evening) and have been getting to know Molly and Cassie as well - so are getting socialised! A few more camera shots over the past week here.
